40 T0 20 Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

40 T0 20

Ever so spirited to task
Taking it all in with haste
Guzzling merlot from a flask
Losing the beauty of taste

Demeaning hearts by exchanging
A true love for one less true
Hapless pleasures rearranging
Old habits disguise as new

Revelling through life in a rage
Floating thoughts in a balloon
Whence common sense mingles with age
Enlightment comes none too soon.
