384. My Own Hero For Once Poem by Jaden Knight

384. My Own Hero For Once

I don't want you to come and rescue me
am bored of you saving the day
am not a male damsel in distress
so please don't treat me that way

I wouldn't mind learning though
all the things that you do
how you get them to come off
and keep managing to scrape through

If you got some time to show me
am willing to absorb what you teach
so I can face the everyday shit
when all hope seems out of reach

I don't want you to come to save the day
am not as thick as a dunce
when I have worked out how it is all done
I can be my own hero for once
