31st Day Of War In Ukraine Poem by Ram Krishna Singh

31st Day Of War In Ukraine

Enchained by his own
creation in Ukraine
Zilensky now counts

his wounds and sees
a spectacle of ravage
before extinction

Joe Biden couldn't help
the avalanche of night
now wrapped in rubble

none left to shed tears
keep memories of the sun
now steeped in darkness

--R K Singh

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The images of War in Ukraine on TV news channels have been extremely disturbing. We watch a lovely country reduced to rubble. As a poet I think the Ukrainean President should have shown statesmanship and saved his country.
