279. Rain Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

O rain! you are truly a wonder of Nature.
So nicely you fall on the earth through the air.
When the earth becomes so hot
It's you who calm the agony of its scorched heart.

When you come down on the earth in the hot days
From the child to the old everyone feels happy.
During my childhood I would feel relaxed so much
With your presence, with your sweet touch.

O rain! you are really a wonder of nature.
Every thirsty heart drinks your nectar
And feels so happy with your nearness.
You've a magical power as you make us so fresh.

O sweet rain! please now don't fall on the earth
Though the earth suffers from the scorching heat.
Almost everyone is gasping with the the pain and agony
And waiting for a long time for your proximity.

My eyes are full of tears only for waiting for my lover.
If you fall now the tears will be washed with your showers.
The tears will show my darling how much I love my sweetheart.
When we will meet, you may fall to soothe my painful heart.
