They say that the quietest people
have the loudest voices
it sounds so silly but it's true
they don't need to shout
to deafen those around them

The loud ones like to stride and strut
bellowing their existence every day
they don't even realise their voice
are not so powerful
compared to some around them

The quiet ones go about their daily lives
not needing to raise their voice
people stand aside and let them through
they don't normally get ignored by anyone

They can stop an argument
with just a single word
who needs to break up a fight
when you can calmly sort it out
with a single sentence

Yes it may surprise you
it may even strike you dumb
and the silence you will realise
it's the quietest people
who have the loudest voices
