264. When I Saw You For The First Time Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

When I saw you for the first time
My eyes forgot to close their lids
Only to watch your dazzling beauty.

I gazed at you for a long time.
Your smiling face charmed my mind.
I felt as if I am in the garden of Heaven.

You spoke nothing to me
Yet I could hear your silent words -
'Come here to caress my heart'.

I moved towards you quietly
But I stopped just before you
When I saw you smiling at me.

I felt, 'we have fallen in love
With each other at first sight.'
Suddenly arose a violent storm.


The darkness pervaded in my mind
When all the lamps got extinguished.
Everyone escaped to take a shelter.

We two too got separated from each other.
Now I don't know where and how you are.
In my vacant mood you give me much pleasure.
