258. Ice Queen Poem by Jaden Knight

258. Ice Queen

Ice queen this time I'm walking away
I know it may be sad
but it's what I must do
got to put my health first this time
am not going to risk it by staying

You claim I broke your heart
but it is impossible for me to do so
no damage did I do to that stone
my best attempts
wouldn't even make a dent

You claim to not be so cold
yet I can see just by your gaze
you have already frozen me out
I have seen your hidden glaziers tall
topped with rock hard snow

I doubt that I'll ever forget you
you'll still be in my mind sometimes
am sure you'll just forget about me
but it won't matter either way

As I walk away from your statuesque form
my leaving behind only my foot prints
I can see fresh flakes begin to fall
as I seek a warmer horizon
