If we considered everybody kin,
If we wore a more gracious face,
If common sense was more common,
The world would be a better place.
If we preferred love over hate,
If people were people without race,
If we chose peace over lethal debate,
The world would be a better place.
If money didn’t define us,
If adversaries would interlace,
If we argued less that we discuss,
The world would be a better place.
If politician only spoke the truth,
If we use only what we can replace,
If we were mindful of our youth,
The world would be a better place.
If we all knew right from wrong,
If every child had a father’s embrace,
If where ever we are is were we belong,
The world would be a better place.
If envy never led to murder,
If we could share our limited space,
If we all became who we once were,
The world would be a better place.
