218. Only To Spend A Holy Night Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

218. Only To Spend A Holy Night

The eternal darkness pervades
The gulf between life and death
But when two with true hearts
Get united at a sacred night,
They beget holy flowers
And with the flowers
Around them they make a world
Filled with perpetual joy.

The half world sleeps always.
Nations never get tired of fighting.
Lava comes out of the volcano.
The rivers get dried and snow melts
Because of drought and heat.
The innocent people are killed
By the terrorists everywhere.
But nothing can stop me.

I passed many sleepless lone nights.
Many people came too close
To the corridor of my heart.
The fairies and the butterflies
Came to the way of my journey.
Yet I have never forgot you
Only to spend a holy night
With you once more my darling!
