201. The Past Poem by Jaden Knight

They say that some things are better off forgotten
that they should be buried deep and never revisited
but is that really the best course
to leave them where they are
unfaced and unchallenged until the end

That is why people fear their past
the darkness within they've let get too strong
one way or another they will have to face it
or risk living under their own shadows

Go ahead and face your past
come to an understanding and then let it be
so the darkness inside can be dispelled
and it is no longer a terrifying place

Let a garden grow where the graves once stood
full of trees and flowers
make it a nice location to go visit
but remember that you belong else where

Yes the past can be made great place
but you really should live in the present
let the plants grow behind you
as you stride on to the future
