2 Songs (For Her, Pulse Of The Rain) Poem by Leon Moon

2 Songs (For Her, Pulse Of The Rain)

For Her

A girl, she dreams monopoly
Calls you to where she rests
A cocoon, she lies in sleepily
Squeezing out gold from a chest.
Waiting for your life to fall into her arms.
And though she can never quite see
She knows what it means to b free,
You have to be apart, wake her from the rest.

She finds without knowing
You've always been forgetting
Love is always what always is
The secret never seeking
You wish you were like them
But you can't budge why you're here,
Your paralysation is something special
A magic too cliche to be a curse

You realise, you've always been waiting for her
And as always, you can't quite see
Where your love ends
Or if it was ever there
To begin with

A girl, she dreams monopoly
Calls you to where she rests
A cocoon unravels then and there
And blood spills from your chest
Her life falls into your arms
And though you can't quite see
You know you gotta be free,
You have to wake her from the rest

Shadowed by an abyss of waves wished to miss
Nothing amazes me in this endless maze
Of never to be in irony's lovely, lonely, loyal misery
Too shocking to show me I'm free, always to be
I made you to save myself
I cross my eyes so I'm justified
In the crucifixion of the first born orphan
Always too confused to reach out in the dark

For a girl, she dreams monopoly
Calls you to where she rests
Her cocoon is a river of mirrors
Woven to a golden dress

Pulse of the Rain

Pulse of the rain, morphing our shape
Down we cascade, it's all pre-made
Pulse of the rain, you give as you take
Outlining fate, what path do you take?

Illusions persuade porcelain veins
Silence still reigns, no reflecting in vain
There's nothing to gain, I like it this way
Harpooned at sea, the loyal fee

And as the world finally fades
And all that remains
Is the love you save
As the world finally fades
And all that remains
Is the love you save

Alone together, laughing on the promenade
At the parade's masquerade, split by the shards
So close but so far, they tear themselves apart
Hypnotised by the sound their own facade imparts
Weaponise fear and they force themselves into war
Never seeing each eye's bound to the same all-reflecting star

Pulse of the rain, Aurora's taste
Her stillness ingrained, entrails of flames
Pulse of the rain, trickles and paints
Tomorrow's face, never a moment too late

Embers you engrave, your future refrains
Can't be replaced, nothing's the same
There's no one to blame, it's your today
The monsoon that drains and capsizes again

And as the world finally fades
And all that remains
Is the love you save
As the world finally fades
And all that remains
Is the love you save

Alone together, laughing on the promenade
In sync with the art art of an ever-streaming scar
Transparent hearts will never part
Because this is the place before our heart-beat starts

And as the world finally fades
And all that remains
Is the love you save
As the world finally fades
And all that remains
Is the love you save

The ever lasting phase returns to your core
No need to replay the pain because you know what falls
Breath between the pause, feel the truth pour

Pulse of the rain, morphing our shape
Down we cascade, it's all pre-made
Pulse of the rain, you give as you take
Outlining fate, what path do you take?

Illusions persuade porcelain veins
Silence still reigns, no reflecting in vain
There's nothing to gain, I like it this way
Harpooned at sea, the loyal fee

And as the world finally fades
And all that remains
Is the love you save
As the world finally fades
And all that remains
Is the love you save

Alone together, laughing on the promenade
In sync with the art art of an ever-streaming scar
Transparent hearts will never part
Because this is the place before our heart-beat starts

Pulse of the rain, pulse of the rain
Nothing's the same, nothing's the same
Pulse of the rain, pulse of the rain
Feel it today, it's yours today
Pulse of the rain, pulse of the rain
Pulse of the rain, pulse of the rain

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
For her was a song written just after (Another) Golden Seed in early 2018, originally had it in-between Nothing Seems So Real (In This Sleep) and In-Between A Mirror both written round the same time for an album but I've decided to omit it for the time being. The album is define and lieu will be replaced by Facing The Water (With Nothing To Say) . Pulse of the Rain is a song written in late 2019, I'm omitting some of the verses but I enjoy aspects of the poetry so I've decided to put them up here.
