1968 Poem by Richard Jarboe

1968

1968, for peace, you're gonna have to wait,
For equal pay, you're gonna have to wait,
Because when boy's got a tinder box brain,
Bullets fly, but who's to blame?

1968, a perilous date,
For equal justice you're gonna have to wait,
Most everybody's dragging their tail,
Try'n to get high and stay out of jail.

1968, MLK: D-O-A,
RFK: D-O-A
Everybody wondering who's next,
'Cause it's any body's guess.
