18 People Poem by Randy McClave

18 People

18 people were killed in Maine
Murdered by a man who was clinically insane,
He took the life's of 18 innocent persons
Mothers, fathers, daughters and sons.
18 lives no longer exists
18 names now are removed from Christmas lists,
No longer are they breathing
As my brain and thoughts are seething.
What do the family members of the murdered say
Do they support the NRA,
Do they believe in his constitutional right
Especially on that one bloody night.
Guns were designed to take away and kill
They were not created ever to heal,
Cowards and bullies usually and mainly own them
Instead of reading or going to a gym.
Republicans believe all Americans should own a gun or a rifle
Ignore the teachings of Jesus in the Bible,
For all gun owners the republicans and the NRA fights
As they want to protect their constitutional rights.
The politicians are just protecting their votes
As they ignored while clearing their campaigning throats,
They see their supporters as bullies or a redneck
From which helps them get their paycheck.
If everyone that night had brought with them a gun
There would had been more deaths under the sun,
But, if that one gun never was owned or did arrive
19 people would still be alive.
