Racist noun: a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another. I guess it's only in the state of mind that we can be fit in unto other shoe.. Or we can be someone else.. When we knew who we are.. .....read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen,
I particularly like the last stanza, yes! If you dont harm me, there will be no chaos, but if you do, expect the worst. Sometimes, we do experience such strange feelings.....nicely written, , , , , well done!
Nice one John! Though I enjoyed all of it my favorite part would have to be the ageist stanza. I feel that society is actually very ageist in present times. But like your poem states, there's no point. We are all getting older each day so why discriminate against those who simply beat us to the finish line. And there are alot of ageist men who are in their 30's,40's, and 50's, yet they only date between 18 & 24. Pretty sick if you ask me. If they love each other fine, but there's definitely something wrong with a guy who wont date women his own age. It's as if he's in denial or having a mid-life crisis. I know I'm rambling at this point, but these are all the things that came to mind after reading your poem. It was very thought provoking, nice job :) Nika~
i just read the first two stanzas. after reading the second stanza, i understood racist from the first stanza. cute/clever. i noticed an understandable typo in this line, but not until i'd read it twice. I woke up this yesterday feeling ageist i had a bit of trouble with the 3rd stanza, but overall i applaud the poem. great rhyme scheme and rhymes. i'll try to not harm you; i think YOU could beat ME to a pulp! , and i like the way i am now. thanks for sharing. bri :) peace, love, and the rest.
I wish everyone was past all of those things. Good poem
