I hear, the cry Of the Holy Innocents The wail of mothers Bereft of the flowers Of their womb Not always a woman's whim Mostly the cowardice of men Sometimes circumstances Whatever we may say Nothing can justify The atrocious injustice Met to those unopened buds.
