Thank you for penning this finely worded tribute, and reminder of how far we still have to go, before we can declare that our world is civilised.

I had posted replies to Yolanda and Ravikumar Patel for their posts. But they have simply disappeared. Can anyone help?
This is a very powerful message, upon reading I was completely overwhelmed with the emotions i felt reading this
Thank You Yolanda for sharing your thoughts on this poem. As you understand, it is real history of the "White Supremacist Movement " (you may call it kkk or by any other name) , in the United Sates. WSM has its roots still in the US, which is horrifying. Thank You
A powerful and important message, in a world where racial prejudice is still present. Well written.
The Stars and Stripes is stained with the blood of racism and, unfortunately, will never be washed clean.
The stain of blood can be traced in every banner…. True. And racism, sure, is a lingering blot on the US society. It is because some unscrupulous persons offer political support to such elements.
Dear UNNIKRISHNAN, the weapon maffia industry is still supporting this, since they needs still producing weapons. President JFK was murdered by the FBI since he was against the VIETNAM-WAR. How very very sad, we are still on this level of worldly view since this killing occurred (1955)
I have commented on this powerful poem before but I had to read it again--we should all read this again and again to keep his memory alive and our heart soft to the call of love and justice
Thank you Susie. Very nice of you to revisit this poem, one of my favourites.
A little boy of fourteen.... a little black boy of fourteen! I find much substance in this emphatic expression....5 stars
Thank you, Dorsey Baker, for visiting my page and reading this poem. Thank you for your comments and the five-star ranking.
Thanks, dear poet's Robert Murray Smith and Dilip K Swain for reading this poem and marking their observations.
Emmet on his black skin bore the sweat, hunger and pain....poignant expression! A wonderful poem.....5 stars
Comments by Mr Richard Deodati (part 3) : but to every human being on Earth who is part of the human race, and who must now acquiesce to feeling a twinge of guilt for what their fellow human beings have done! Nicely done, Unnikrishnan!
Comments by Mr Richard Deodati (part 2) : Akin to the Jewish holocaust, these horrors can never be erased, but must always be remembered no matter how terrifyingly disturbing they become, not just to those involved and to their friends and relatives and kin and the like,
Comment by Mr. Richard Deodati: A raw, graphic poem by Unnikrishnan Es illustrates the pain and sorrow that an entire race must endure as a result of a vicious terroristic attack against them simply because of the color of their skin. ….(contd)
3. Thank for this painful reminder of what evil human beings can inflict on one another...some things will never change!
2. Less has change after all this interventions and new laws but here in our country racism and oppression is very much alive.
On the occasion of Mother's Day on the 12 May 2024, May I invite my fellow poets to read this story of a most courageous mother
