1...A Blonde Affair

Rating: 5.0

Time softens the blow, it would seem
But with time, I can now see it all
The promise made was the beginning of the fall
And the big mistake was to promise to you at all

But what does it matter?
Dreams don't last for life
Their place is easily taken
By another fool like you

The times we had, have now to be repaid
The sweetness became a bitter taste
And I can't remember any single day
That I've not regretted you getting in my way

You can say I'm wrong
But you know inside I'm right
Useless to carry on the fight
You go as far to say it was worth it
But I know it never was

Hurt, laughs, tears and fun
I remember it all so clearly
Good things can all too easily turn bad
And the memories, are now just misery for me

A blonde affair, casually I say
But it was only ever going to be from day to day
Just a laugh? You left unplanned
Now I live my life a different way

I didn't want you to be like the rest
You didn't own me just because we lay together
Here today, gone tomorrow?
And you've taken away another little piece of me.
