052. As The Darkness Pulls Its Cloak Across The Sky Poem by Jaden Knight

052. As The Darkness Pulls Its Cloak Across The Sky

As the darkness pulls its cloak across the sky
I let the curtains fall into place
I take a candle from my pocket
and light it with a single match

The candle glows just like my heart
a reflection of my soul
my eyes once dull now glow again
ignited by your love

Distance is nothing compared to love
I can feel your candle far away
in my mind I can see your face
but in my heart I feel your caring arms
keeping me safe from danger

A fire roars inside me
a sign of my burning desire
to be with you
to share your thoughts
no matter what happens

As I sit down in my chair to go to sleep
I look at the candle burning bright
watching over me until morning
but even if the candle dies
our love will always remain

Missing someone can burn like fire, but Distance is nothing compared to love - spoken loud and true.

By the flicker of love's flame, might we all find light and warmth. Delicate and speaks from the soul.
