Just one of those magical times when the poem finds its own form... I realised afterwards: it's a way of recording the event experienced without having to 'wax poetic' about it. Surprise!

And you write poetry after all! So soothing to be able to see beauty and transcribe it. GS

If I may, I'll join the chorus of praise for this poem. Yes, the last stanza tops it off nicely. I like how the poem operates on a couple of levels - the enjoyment of things we've seen before, but also what I imagine is the tug of the poet in you to write it down, which would detract from the simple enjoyment of the scene. It's like photographers who talk about needing to put down their camera from time to time so that they can just enjoy the scene with their plain eyes.

Maybe you should be writing a poem about your audacity. Accusing others on this site of fiddling with the figures in the 500 poets. I will not hold my breath waiting for an apology. Perhaps some day, someone will insult you.Not in person, not in front of you, but from the safety of 10,000 miles away and false names of false mates. Then you might know. H
