Very funny Michaeland well structured. Of course I strongly disagree with your viewpoint here, Darwinism is a contribution to knowledge, and should be taught. believe in God is simply an individual faith and should be left to the family or the individual. Seperation between state and church? I thought that was a clause in the Constitution. Still I can disagree as much as I want, this is still a great piece.
Of course, you're quite right, I can imagine the Irish would find this a serious matter, being taught biology by priests and nuns could be unhelpful...it's just that the formal separation of 'natural philosophy' into material science and faith can be equally unhelpful. It certainly was for me - hence perhaps this poem. The first casualty is the sense of wonder. Good teachers take care of that.
