Footnote for our American cousins: Mills and Boon are the hugely successful publishers of bodice-rippers and their more genteel bedmates. Bedtime reading for the single bed. The saviours of not a few starving authors, google them for further details. Chapter One. 'It all started with this poetry website I was posting on, not too seriously.
