Styx: 'there are multiple rivers named Styx, including rivers in Alabama, Ohio, and Oregon (states in the USA) . Also: In Greek mythology, Styx also called the River Styx, is a goddess and river of the Underworld.'
Proserpina, the Roman Goddess (Persephone among the Greek Goddesses) is the Goddess of Spring as well as the Underworld. Why both Spring and Underworld are entrusted with the same Goddess? Any guess, Bri?
'The Flood', .....Noah's (and maybe everyone else's) flood in the Bible? ? ? Just a 'story' I think, but I enjoyed it as a child (the story, not the flood) .
As a child, you should have enjoyed the flood too, Bri 😝 Hehehe!
I paused at the ending, staring at the last two lines. Then I let out a gentle laugh. I also figured that the 'flame' was probably there to boil the water.

Rice is the staple food (source of carbohydrates) of the people in Garhwal (Uttarakhand India) , Utterpradesh, Kerala, Tamizhnad, Karnataka, Andhra etc

the poem vividly depicts the yearning for freedom, even in the face of overwhelming odds. The imagery of the rice grain and the dramatic wish for escape evoke a powerful sense of longing. a good one.
