022511b She Came For Hugs

i open garage door to see
bright lights blurring my eyes
slender shadow in bluejeans
and jacket came out of door
walking towards me; quick step
i heard 'what are you doing, ha! '

i'm quick to say 'nothing, honey'
that's my daughter who came by
to pick her 'ipod' that she gave me
after i bought her an 32g iphone
i don't use it anyway; it's dust catcher
i use my computer to listen to music

i didn't feel winter wind kiss my face
my barefeet numb standing on cement
while i exchange some short pleasantries
few hugs and kisses and we part for night
reminds me when i have to tuck her in
i pray that thunder n lightning are friends
