(013) Pyrrhosoma Nymphula Poem by Danny Reynolds

(013) Pyrrhosoma Nymphula

Rating: 5.0

“What happened to your head? ” I said
to the Large Red Damselfly
This popped out ping-pong ball-type, spread
till where were ears, now lives an eye.
Perching neckless, almost reckless
on a humbug, plain to see
The creator at your birth was feckless
Aligned design, chaotically
Then all those wings to fly so steady
Hovering like a humming-bird
To find real beauty, we must make ready
And search even in, the most absurd.
