no snakes in this one. i'm not sure if lions and tigers ever inhabit the same jungle; i don't think so. but i'll give you poetic license THIS TIME! i wonder if the tiger's tongue would be so gentle if it were licking the inside of my ribcage. hmmmm? in the stanza: A small boy plays by the water fall enjoying the torrent on his shiny skin the roar of the water on the rocks copies the voice of the mighty lion prowling in the undergrowth .........i at first read the 2nd and 3rd lines as parts of the same sentence. that can be a hazard for readers when you don't punctuate. of course, it does help keep us on our toes [or off of them]. to him it is all a game..........to him refers to the tiger? i would think so because tiger is closer to those words in the stanza, BUT it would make more sense? to me if him referred to the elephant, who seems to be playing around. hmmm? by the way, i especially enjoyed reading: the roar of the water on the rocks copies the voice of the mighty lion prowling in the undergrowth thanks for sharing, Tarzan. bri :)
I enjoyed the poem and the imagery. Well done!
