Often in my solitude, in the broken dreams I see,
In the unfulfilled wishes, that often shattered look at me.
In my heart, a strange restlessness does lie,
With which every single day, entangled, I get by.

Everyone lives on a glimmer of hope,
But when that anchor breaks away,
It feels as though the world has ceased,
And no reason remains to face the day.

Some stories remain unfinished,
Some desires remain incomplete,
Some words remain unsaid,
Some memories cannot be forgotten.

Perhaps I am not the one you desire,
Perhaps I am not the one you wish to see.
Perhaps I am not the one you want to make your own,
But I am the one you keep encountering, though you are not mine.

There is so much I long to say,
But no one to lend an ear.
