Lisbon Tawanda Poems

Brothers, I had a dream last night,
I dreamt Africa was now full of light! !
Her poverty was a thing of the past,
And those who were first were now the last! !

'Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.'
(2 Timothy 2: 3)

Stand in the victory that Christ has won,

When I quarrel my voice reaches to the South,
Lord, put a cello tape on my mouth,
I want to relearn speaking,
That's all I am seeking
...

I once preached to a man in a telephone booth,
Long ago during the days of my youth,
I grew up different from the other boys,
As a little boy I studied the scriptures and avoided toys

Because our economic policies are too strict,
They hinder the creation of jobs,
They trigger the rising of mobs,

Brothers, I Had A Dream!

Brothers, I had a dream last night,
I dreamt Africa was now full of light! !
Her poverty was a thing of the past,
And those who were first were now the last! !

Brothers, it was the most beautiful dream I ever had,
I heard what my ears have never heard,
A voice said, “The race is not to the swift”,
And I saw prosperity towards us shift,
I saw God raise us from the dust,
And Africa was no longer the last! !

Brothers, I dreamt we were beating our spears into pruning hooks,
We were reading and writing books,
We were rising at the fastest pace,
And Africa was now a better place,
Brothers, my dream might not be accepted by you,
But my dream shall surely come true!
