Lay down your little weary head,
Be still now, let me tuck you into bed.
Close your eyes and hug your little ted,
Close your eyes now and let me kiss your little head.
...
We have come all this weary way;
I could not have made it alone.
But you were by my side ev'ry day:
I love you more than you than you can know.
...
I slept and dreamed a dream tonight,
and in my dream I was walking, walking in the sunlight.
I looked an I saw you sitting beside the stream;
you were bright, like gleaming light, like a sunlight beam;
...
May you find the light,
And see your dreams all come true.
May you love what is right,
And walk in wisdom and candor pure.
...
In youthful springs, my laughter bloomed in light,
Beneath the budding trees I forged my dreams,
But now with autumn's chill, I face the night,
As tender hope dissolves in silent streams.
...
The frosted earth, a slumber deep,
Now wakes to whispers, soft and steep.
A gentle rain, a cleansing tear,
Dispels the winter's chilling fear.
...
My love has gone across the sea
To find a country far and fair
He sailed into the gilded west'
And lo, my heart will never rest
...
So long this road I have walked;
With so many strangers I have talked.
So many mountains I have climbed;
And yet one desire lingers in my mind.
...
When we were young this life was so simple;
We needed only obey and be thankful.
We had chores around our little farm;
But life was happy when the weather was warm.
...
What is love, only a feeling?
Love must be unbreakable,
Like a sacred vow binding.
...
The shadows fell; there was darkness,
and the bells stopped ringing in the towers.
The night came with such subtle stillness,
and the petals fell from all the flowers.
...
The earth that is scorched with seed inside
Will bloom again in the spring.
The river that is frozen deep under ice
Will one day again forth spring.
...
The road has been long and black the night;
Days of darkness have we seen and days of light.
Cold has been the way but warm was your hand;
Darkness before and darkness behind; all ‘round barren lands.
...
Grey are the eyes that newly upon the world looks
Returned and alive, the legend of old books
White shines the fur of an age distant and past
Rising to gleam again, after 10,000 years at last
...
I stand tall and strong, a silent sentinel,
My roots deep-reaching, a story to tell.
My branches spread wide, a canopy grand,
A haven for birds, a whispering band.
...
No matter where I wander,
And no matter what I do;
I cannot help but desperately wonder;
Where are you?
...
I Vow To Thee My Country, all earthly things above
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love
The Love that asks no questions, the love that stands the test
That lays upon the altar, the dearest and the best
...
I saw the light flee from your eyes;
Here you are cold and still lying.
I sit here left to only mourn and cry.
Darkness now is falling;
...
How am I to describe that feeling,
That a child has laughingly reeling?
Like tweeting birds on a lovely summer day?
Or like sleek otters splashing at play.
...
In shadows deep, where whispers cling,
A tale of love and loss takes wing,
Severus Snape, with heart concealed,
A legacy of pain revealed.

Sleep Now
Lay down your little weary head,
Be still now, let me tuck you into bed.
Close your eyes and hug your little ted,
Close your eyes now and let me kiss your little head.
Sleep and into the dreamlands fly,
Fall asleep now, and wherever you fly, I will be nigh.
I will sing for you the sweetest lullaby,
Sleep now, forget your worries while I sit by.
Sleep and know I love you my little child,
Sleep now, leave this waking world, oh so very wild.
Rest with me close all the while,
And sleep now, my lovely little child.

Dumbledore opened his eyes. Snape looked horrified. ‘You've kept him alive so that he can die at the right moment? ' ‘Don't be shocked, Severus. How many men and women have you watched die? ' ‘Lately, only those whom I could not save, ' said Snape. ‘You have used me.' ‘Meaning? ' 'I have spied for you and lied for you, put myself in mortal danger for you. Everything was supposed to be to keep Lily Potter's son safe. Now you tell me you have been raising him like a pig for slaughter -- ' 'But this is touching, Severus, ' said Dumbledore seriously. 'Have you grown to care for the boy, after all? ' 'For him? ' said Snape, his voice barely a whisper. 'Expecto Patronum! ' From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe. She landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office, and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears. 'Lily, after all this time? ' 'Always' said Snape. -The Deathly Hallows, abridged by Timber Koleden, original written by J.K. Rowling
