His Cider with Rosie was an immediate best-seller, reaching a wide public with its images of village life from a bygone era of innocence and simplicity. With its success Lee could buy his childhood home in Slad.Wionderful great North American poet!

Avril, I can’t find an online version of Summer Rain, but it is in the book Bloom of Candles, now out of print but there are secondhand copies on Abebooks.

I am sure I learned a poem by Laurie Lee called 'Summer Rain' (?) when at school in the 60s, but can fund no trace of it. Does anyone know the poem, please?
