Henrietta Ezegbe Poems

I met a man.

One I had always known, but knew nothing about his soul. Then out of the blue, he chose to bare - clean slate he termed it.
...

The things you said
The things you did
Your jokes
Our arguments
...

He said "nice-purse"
I looked up, staring love in the eyes
The rest is history
...

First, the ecstatic joy of meeting
Fire sparks go off, love is in the air!
In tow follows the sad extinguish
O modern dating, just like clockwork.
...

Once upon an enigma
With pearls for teeth, they seem to live to smile
Ever beaming from inside out
With gold for a heart, their aura serenades
...

Pretty sure this happened.
Or maybe not?
Cold night on call
Walking the site pavements alone in the dead of the night
...

Roots in shifting soil,
A quiet strength in the change —
Flourish in the now.
...

Keeper of endings and beginnings,
you move softly through golden light,
whispering surrender, renewal,
and faith in what the eyes cannot see.
...

Enchanted In One Minute

I met a man.

One I had always known, but knew nothing about his soul. Then out of the blue, he chose to bare - clean slate he termed it.

His way with words ugh.. they charmed my sock off, my heart skipped several beats.

He said:
I listened to this old song from yesteryears and all I could imagine was you.

I imagined you by the beach side on a quiet stroll. Hair in the wind, long flowing dress catching the breeze.

I imagined the morning sunshine gently highlighting your pretty face..
your legs longer than my imagination, and your athletic body begging to be caressed.

He sent this to me, to wake up to. I did.. and I died. I've been charmed, enchanted, and aroused.

This man! Who are you?

I live for a good chase: can you keep up?
