This rose you give me,
so fragrant and soft
This offering
will it last for long?

...

        I awoke today
to looming clouds,
and so sighing I said
I'll write a poem today.

...

        Under the willow tree,
you whispered your secrets to me,
and we exchanged
a smile and a tear.

...

The cracks that split this path we walk,
And the holes that hold yesterday's puddles,
We start our journey here,
On this Sidewalk.

...

                    Nothing Lasts Forever

                    This rose you give me,
so fragrant and soft
This offering
will it last for long?
I've learned in life
of things that fade
with space and time.
Be it gifts of love
or blessed people in our lives.
I've learned in life
that nothing lasts forever.
I've seen days of sorrow,
and days of joy
I've wept at funerals
laughed at weddings,
It's a journey; this life
a heart's journey through
tunnels of emotions unstable
claiming you as they wish
Succumb and do not grieve
nothing lasts forever.
