In emerald leaves where secrets hide,
A rainforest frog begins to slide,
With jeweled skin and eyes so soft,
Down the leaves of his lofty croft.

Joy is a firefly that dances in the night;
He graces the darkness with a little light.
Though the winds roar and there is pouring rain;
When the sun rises he is dancing yet again!

What is the life of a raindrop like I wonder;
When the clouds are their waters shedding.
What is it like to fly within the thunder;
Is it perhaps like sledding?

Spiders, sure, are beautiful though hard to love,
They're not regal like a lion or graceful like a dove.
Some say they're creepy, some say they're just wrong;
If you think so we are singing the same exact song.

With little fluttering wings they dance on the breeze,
In a cheerful little waltz they cling to the wind at ease.
Under tree and over sparkling water they play where they please,
And delight themselves in simple pleasures and tiny glees.

My hair I put up behind my head with my hands,
I look over the gym floor to the director, the instruments in the stands.
I will do my best to float to the tune of the band.

Poetry whispers secrets in a breathless breeze,
A dance of words that set the spirit free,
In every rhyme, a world begins to gleam,
A voice of soul, a fleeting, tender dream.

The Happy Frog

In emerald leaves where secrets hide,
A rainforest frog begins to slide,
With jeweled skin and eyes so soft,
Down the leaves of his lofty croft.

Amidst the trees, a ribbetting song,
A melody both sweet and strong,
It leaps through shadows, from branch to tree
Never knowing, never caring, always free.

In the bath of rain-made mud,
He has no care for strife nor blood,
A fragile miracle, alive and glad,
Unknowingly innocent of things so bad.

Oh, humble frog of lush, green grace,
Your beauty blooms in this wild place,
A testament to nature's art—
A tiny wonder with a tiny heart.
