12 July, it was the day
The terrible day, I nod in fear
Drew her breath in last one sigh
Lo, was gone my mom most dear
...

Never would we blessed this great
Wish such a wonder child you dear
Your cries, your smiles and all your tricks
All makes us great with pride abound.
...

(A personal one depicting the hardships endured by me and my family after being struck hard by a deluge in Chennai, a second time on Dec 02,2015 after the first instance on Oct 27,2005.)

Content a life, we led thus far
Spouse, my boy and our small dreams
...

Born were I and you apart
Never did know so where we were
And time came now for us to know
That chosen were we for being one.
...

Pal you are, your shoulders strong
A bolster strong, my head to rest
To console, to pat, to give a hug
You’re always there an all life mate.
...

(A reflection of a child standing on the beach after losing his parents. This was written after the Tsunami had struck the southern coastal region of India in 2005)

Castles we mounted together all eve
Soaked my feet, she teased me wet
...

(A tribute to my god given life partner)

She's my love, she's my life
So dear to me, she's my wife
...

(A note on the Christmas Star that had guided the Vikings to Jesus.)

Oh my dear! You wonder star
So bright you shine all day and night
...

(A reflection of the merciless killings in Mumbai by terrorists on 26/11)

A day it came a day it went
Pain and cry all left in grief
...

(A personal one depicting the hardships endured by me and my family after being struck hard by a deluge in Chennai, India on Oct 27,2005. My life had turned upside down with just our lives alone spared. This is just what I had gone through then.)

Content a life, we led thus far
My spouse, my boy and our small dreams
...

(A loud cry to the Heavenly Father.)

Father you are to all on earth
Plans you make to mould our birth
...

(My poem gifted to Benedict XVI, The Pope in the month of April this year (2010) via a Priest in India who had attended a conference in Rome)

Father he is to all of us
Friend he is and always there
...

(A poem on 9/11 written on the eve of that eventful day. This poem showcases the twin towers as twin brothers talking to us and comforting us after their demise, recollecting fond memories of love, prosperity and martyrdom. You’ll find the brothers consoling us amidst their own unimaginable pain.)

Life we got in hands of wight
Took we birth as charming twins

The Best Poem Of Dr Anish Mathew John

She Is Gone…

12 July, it was the day
The terrible day, I nod in fear
Drew her breath in last one sigh
Lo, was gone my mom most dear

Brave was her, she bore all pain
New I was, she held me close
Walked along, never made me fall
New this world, she brought me here

Teacher, guide, my life’s mentor
Is gone now far, she is out of sight
Can’t hear her voice, the voice so sweet
The warmth is gone, I longed for it

Selfless love, a mother’s gift
A gift reserved for kids so dear
It keeps the light shine bright all day
Home she made, sweet home it was

Poor my mom, her health gone low
She pulled along with life few left
Strong her heart, weak her bones
Found hard to keep her soul up high

Fought she strong, stout her mind
Held the word of God so tight
Tears rolled down her cheek all days
Felt real hard, the pain untold

Miss you dear, my mom you’re gone
You see me now, far off my world
The world I am in, it’s short on time
You smile at me, from heaven afar

Jesus my Lord, my loving God
Keep my mom, safe and sound
You’ve set the day and hour unknown
To hug my mom again with love.

Written in memory of my beloved mother, Susamma Cherian (Leelamma) who went away to the Lord on 12-Jul-2015
