The last time they smiled, Its been a while
Neither do they laugh
Secretly rolling in laughter, they pretend to cough

one fell to the ground every now and then..
the rust earth covered with yellow flowers
carelessly strewn
Yet how carefully made..

I hobbled
onto a chair with raised legs
All I wanted was to gobble
some eggs
...

'Wifey', cried the owl
Serene is thy howl
You're the best singer in town
He added with a frown
...

Red socks and red shoes, loafing in a fair
Enjoying delicacies, savoring my share
Girls with sugar candies, flowers in their hair
Giggling women selling their fare
...

The summers are brittle
in my valley
covered in red laterite dust
there’s water little
...

'Oh, dear
don't run away in fear
come here
close by, near'
...

He’s built a machine
Has young and old gushing
Ever since he was born
“He’s a genius” said all
...

Tonight, I wish I could sleep on a bundle of hay
carefree and gay
I may
even croon
