Dan Leaver Biography

Hello and thanks for viewing my profile.
I was born Daniel Leaver in the small town of padukah in western Kentucky in the fall of 1973. My birth father was lost in time, so all I know of him is his name, my mother remarried to the one I call dad. This man raised me and my brother as if we were his and he is truly the only man I will call my father. He taught me early on to be hard working, respectful, have morals and value. Not through money, yet through compassion for life and a genuine love of nature. I've learned much through my own trials and tribulations, through my words I wish to share and create, inspire and heal. Life is a dance we learn, they say, and I have fallen many times and will undoubtly fall again. When I was a boy of 14 we settled down in northern Indiana. I choose the hard ways of life, dropped out of school and married young at 22. I thought that if I worked hard I would find my independance and raise my family. when my son was just a yr old, my wife got pregnant, but not by me. So the divorce ensued as did custody and child support. Weekend visits were never enough I always wanted to raise him full time. My son is now 14 and lives with me, as I was recently awarded full custody.. so he is my life and my mission is simple, , to spread smiles and hope and leave a mark..Through my poems I offer insperation and hope..
