Cameron Burleson Poems

Dear friends I see you all too seldom
I stretch myself to hope
That someday soon 'round the fire we'll sit
Share our worries and our jokes
...

Off by yourself in
A wood all alone.
No one to mourn,
Cry over your bones.
...

My daughter runs to the tune of a horse,
Gallop the rhythm of her soul.
Rhythm that plays from coastal shores where
Current shapes the shoals.

Friends On The Trail

Dear friends I see you all too seldom
I stretch myself to hope
That someday soon 'round the fire we'll sit
Share our worries and our jokes

My friends y'all mean the world to me
From my soul I do impart
Y'all are all welcome in the bunkhouse space
That's settled in my heart

I've rode this state from sea to mountain
Watched sunrise and sunset
But never a dawn nor twilight cool
Was better without y'all there

I thank y'all for grazing on my thoughts
I pray my meaning's found
In the hands we hold and the hugs we share
With friends so tightly bound.
