Brian (Yaotzu) Bungcayao Biography
Not much to say. I was born and grew up here on Oahu Hawaii. Born from Filipino parents that imigated here in the late 70's. I have been writing poetry since the late 90's just as a time killer then became more interested in poetry in college and attended a two classes on poetry and publishing.
I have never met you yet I mourn your sorrows
Tears run down my cheeks as every line of your letter shreds at my being.

I’m caught off guard by two streams of light
piercing through my clouded thoughts.
I remove the shades off my face

Many run but I’m intrigued
The bullet echoes the soldiers creed
Civilians turn but few proceed
For money, honor, or a place to be.

I saw the dragon on his arm
Stunning bright colors of traditional Japanese ink work
A man with no past but many stories on his face reveals no words
Every wrinkle ran like canals of sweat, hair, and focus

As I lay here
Will you lay with me.
Nonsexual embracing of shadowed walls
blocking out the light of day unappreciated
