Breanna Koelliker Poems

I've walked for so long,
There's no turning back now,
For I'm in hope of success,
We have been hurt many times,
...

I made a confession that ruined it all,
I told you my actual feelings for you,
And everything we had came crashing down,
It was like a one thousand pound weight was thrown on my shoulders,
...

Everyone knew I had a crush on you,
There was no point in hiding it anymore,
But we were such good friends so I didn’t want it to change,
We always played those little flirting games,
...

Fears are everywhere,
Your fears wait for you,
My fear may be a joke to you,
Come take a walk in my shoes,
...

Beautiful and mysterious,
Florescent and bright,
Tall and lean,
She tends to look a little mean,
...

It's been a while since I've seen you,
And I remember how you used to act,
Even though I respect the decision that's been made,
You're still a part of me that I can't give away,
...

7.

I stand still in the forest,
Listening to the wind blow,
As I gaze up at the sunset,
Completely silent all around,
...

Painful words should be left unspoken,
That way no one feels broken,
Things are said that make us cry,
Things are said that make us say goodbye,
...

You make me shake,
You make me lose focus,
You’ve made me stumble,
...

Show me the world as you hold my hand,
Speak to me of all your plans,
Look me in the eyes and tell me the truth,
I want to know whats the most important thing to you,
...

She spun that revolver hoping it would solve her,
Slowly she put it to her head trying to picture what she would look like dead,
It was a game of Russian Roulette except nobody else was put in the bet,
A thunderous roar poured and the girl fell to the floor,
...

I'm here for the show,

Nature explains this plain world,
...

Sitting in the clouds
She looks down
And sees the world
As if it were in the palm of her hands
...

Nothing has to be perfect,
All of it is beautiful,
Time passes and it changes,
Universally it is accepted,
...

She mixes the potion like a merry-go-round,
Adding multiple herbs to enlighten,
Everyone hates her without a sound,
But to her, life is brightened,
...

There once was a mate on a ship,
While running soap suds made him slip,
He fell through the floor,
It cracked like waves on a shore,

Freedom

I've walked for so long,
There's no turning back now,
For I'm in hope of success,
We have been hurt many times,
By racial judgment which I plan to stop,
So freedom we can claim,
We can go where we want,
Sit where we want,
I'm so close to getting that for us all,
Just a few more steps and we can be free,
Free to run in the pasture,
Free from slavery,
We can do more things than we've ever imagined,
For my long walk to freedom has not yet ended.
