Birjais Zahira Poems

She slipped for a stride
A wake up call echoed
Her eyes glided through Dal Lake
And rested over those trees
...

Gazing in thy little red color,
The pink shadowed glow
On thy cheeks,
Quite blushingly, you named
...

Her skin, honey colored
Glazed with sun, lifting
My trembling hands to hold
Her body lying underneath
...

The dark owl sang in melancholy
The princess was gone, it howled
Did she paint the dark shadow?
And met her ominous future mind.

Chaar Chinar The Four Chinar Trees

She slipped for a stride
A wake up call echoed
Her eyes glided through Dal Lake
And rested over those trees

The island was just a dream
She could feel the water
The rushing old waves of shikara
Turning into a chinar dream

The love those leaves fluttered
The angelic spring cried
The rusty leaves crushed
A lovers autumn instead

The daylight listed in glory
And the nights struggled to live
The silent tears of valor
The endless promise within

So many fights were fought
And the reconciliations whispered throughout
The sudden gusts of wind
And the talking trees in delight

I remember the flooded island
The helpless might drowned
Every memory collapsed in
Under the broken esteem

So it is gloom, they say
The trees, they seldom talk
the whisperings have stopped
Dawning into a silenced glory

Maybe the lost can rejuvenate
Reversed back in shady desire
Like the once boulevard dream

Circling back to chaar chinar.
