Feel the pressure pushing in from all around,
The grip of cold water as it begins to surround.
See your dreams float like pockets of air,
Things you wish you had strength to dare.
...
Why does music move the soul,
And temporarily make us whole?
What is it about the vibration of air,
That draws us from darkness’ lair?
...
I see fire, burning my hills,
My desire, and heart stills.
Brought to my knees, from the things I've done,
...
The flickering flame slowly begins to die,
I watch as smoke begins to gently fly.
Just the little ember in the wick remains,
Like a survivor from the wax it proclaims.
...
Here below the fluorescent sky's glow,
I let my mind wonder as I go.
Pale and tired are some eyes I see,
Others shine brightly back at me.
...
I remember all the times I've tried to weep,
And the fitful nights I've found no sleep.
I remember feeling dead inside this shell,
Emotions ringing like a muted bell.
...
I don't want to love you because of your eyes deep,
I don't want to love you because together we sleep,
I don't want to love you because of your hips,
I don't want to love you because of your lips.
...
God whose words I read,
Shepherd over this life I lead.
Rock upon which I stand,
High King over every land.
...
Burning, its burning in my brain.
Beliefs don’t help, my thoughts are vain.
Pressure pushing in all my veins,
...
Misty air, gleaming stones.
Names etched above the bones.
Failures and victories collide,
Where lives ended now reside.
...
I awoke today with the Son holding my hand,
Telling me 'Today's the day I heal your land.'
He took me to the Book and He taught me to say,
'Lord thank you again for a beautiful day.'
...
Moonlight shining thicker than a blanket of snow upon the grass.
Meeting the dark shadows in stark contrast.
An obsidian expanse glitters like a child's sweet innocent eye.
'Adventures await, ' The stars whisper as I lie.
...
Close your eyes for just a moment.
Now…
Raise your head from kneeling low.
Watch the stars glide by slow.
...
Relax, and learn to breath.
Life is a hurricane and you're a leaf.
Stretch, and look around.
...
One day my name will be written on a plaque of stone,
And all the stories and memories,
Dreams and fantasies.
Nothing I dreamed and left unaccomplished will be shown.
...
When my darling asks me how much I love her what will I say?
Will I think of all the times I held sorrow and loneliness at bay?
Will I think of all the times my heart was broken before?
Will I be at a loss for words and succumb to using a metaphor?
...
I awake with tears in my eyes,
Sorrow embraces my heart as it dies.
I can rise and face the day,
But in pain and defeat I'd rather stay.
...
What is this wasteland that I travel here?
I see others, but none come very near.
Always at a distance, an arm's breath away.
My heart feels tormented, left to decay.
...
Loneliness is an ally I'd rather keep,
Even if in misery I must sleep.
Hope comes and inspires a dream,
Thought it evaporates faster than steam.
...
I didn't try to run Lord,
I didn't want to hide.
I didn't realize I hoard,
I didn't know I lied.

I was born in Massachusetts, but raised in New Hampshire, the homeland of Robert Frost. I grew up not knowing much about poetry until I read some of his work. Since then I have been inspired to try and write poems of equal quality. I enjoy writing poetry mostly as a means to communicate to others what I am feeling. Some poems I do write only for myself, but the majority I write for people I love or people that hurt me and didn't know. These poems are here for you to enjoy! I hope you like them! Please don't be afraid to rate them!)
Let Me Know It Is I You Will Miss
Feel the pressure pushing in from all around,
The grip of cold water as it begins to surround.
See your dreams float like pockets of air,
Things you wish you had strength to dare.
Away they rise, leaving you to your demise.
Dragged towards the bottom in a bitter lie,
Sinking alone and waiting to die.
The realization you are not as good,
And some one will take the place
Of where you once stood,
As tears run down my face.
What do I have to give that you desire?
What adventures light your fire?
You'll say you still love me for who I am,
But compared to others I am a lamb.
And they are wild and full of life,
You wouldn't want to be my wife.
I am tired and shattered,
I will only leave you battered.
Fly free, and leave me be.
Let me sink to the bottom of this abyss.
Just let me know it is I you will miss.
I have truly enjoyed your lyrical manuscript. Check out my poems, I think you'll find them interesting.
