I'm 63 years old and married. I have 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren. I'm a clinical pharmacist practicing in an inner city hospital. My specialty is pain management. Currently, I'm in the 7th semester of a 9 semester program for my doctorate degree. I thought I'd try writing some poetry.I enjoy reading poetry, especially E.A.Poe, Blake, and some others. I don't think I have talent in this area, but I find it enjoyable. I welcome all comments to my poem(s) and will respond to all if requested. I believe I will enjoy this website.)
Abby
It's only been two weeks,
But I miss you more than I can bare.
My constant companion, my cozy comforter,
I feel you next to me,
I wish I could see,
With your eyes on mine, I felt sublime.
I hope I didn't stretch it, your 19 years offset it
You passed through our hearts, and died in our arms.
We knew that's how it should be,
In the ivy patch lay your bed
As we gently lay your head,
So my retreat gained a friend
And we will never bend,
Loving you dear and feeling so near
Sensitively written, reminiscent of Annabel Lee in meter and mode-meloncholy. Outstanding in emotional equivication, charm and overall impact. Bravo
