Aleksandra Spaseska Biography

Aleksandra Spaseska was born in 1984 in the town of Kavadarci, Macedonia. Spent her childhood and early adolescence in her parents' hometown of Prilep where she first started writing poetry and short stories. At the age of 18 she moved to the capital Skopje where she enrolled the Department of English language and literature at the Faculty of philology 'Blaze Koneski'. She decided to stay in the capital after University considering it to be a suitable place for her to grow as a professional and an artist. She currently works as a translator for the daily newspaper 'Vest' and runs her personal blog Vezilka at http: //aleksandrinavezilka.wordpress.com. Her poems were included in several collaborative issues of poetry, the online student magazine 'Izlez' and the blog Open City 360 Poets and Writers, The Anthology of Young Macedonian Avant-garde Poetry and she is a member of the non-profit literary arts organization Poets Without Borders. She now writes both in Macedonian and English, mostly poetry. Enjoys reading, studying new languages and cultures, spending time with her cats, and is interested in street fashion blogging, Macedonian traditional music, poetry and clothing, and European cinematography.
